Ian Parberry obtained his PhD in 1984 from the University of Warwick in the UK. After a research career in computational complexity and neural networks, he became a pioneer of game programming in academia and founded LARC in 1993. He became a Full Professor in 1995. He has published 6 books, 3 of them on game progamming.
Jon Doran came from Colorado to Texas to work with Dr. Parberry. He is a LARC PhD student in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering of the University of North Texas currently doing research on game programming. He is also an expert on keeping the computers in the lab running. Jon wants someday to the a Professor of Game Programming.
Vincent Liguori came from New Jersey to Texas to work with Dr. Parberry. Vincent did his undergraduate degree in LARC and he has coded some cool game demos in Dr. Parberry's classes. He stayed on for his PhD and he is currently doing preliminary research on motion sickness in computer games.
Dhanyu Amarasinghe hails from Sri Lanka. He is studying for his PhD in LARC at the Department of Computer Science of the University of North Texas. He is currently doing research on procedural interactive fire. Dhanyu wants someday to the a Professor of Game Programming.
Joshua Taylor did his undergraduate degree in LARC and is proficient at coding games. He stayed on for his PhD in LARC at the Department of Computer Science & Engineering of the University of North Texas currently doing research on procedural content generation. He and Dr. Parberry are also working fitfully on a book about Java game programming for casual web games designed for the beginning programmer. Josh wants someday to the a Professor of Game Programming.
Faisal Rabbani hails from Pakistan. Faisal did his undergraduate degree in LARC and stayed on for his MS in LARC at the Department of Computer Science & Engineering of the University of North Texas. She is currently doing research on real-time animation of water wave propagation.
Mary Yingst did her undergraduate degree in LARC and after a short stint in industry returned for her MS in LARC at the Department of Computer Science & Engineering of the University of North Texas. She is currently doing research on real-time animation of breaking waves and surf.
